B Corp Certified

Rototek is proud to be B Corp certified, part of a global community of businesses held to higher social and environmental standards.

Earning Our B Corp Certification

Rototek
is B Corp Certified!

Rototek has been B Corp certified since November 2023. We chose to pursue B Corp certification because it reflects our values and aims for progress over perfection, encouraging constant improvement around both people and planet.

B Corp certification is an independent assessment of a business against high standards of social and environmental performance. The assessment involves over 200 questions, which took us over two years to complete, and to certify, a business needs to score at least 80 points. We were really proud to score 92.3, made up of:

  • Governance: 15.8

  • Workers: 26.9

  • Community: 18.7

  • Environment: 27.1

  • Customers: 3.6

By certifying as a B Corp, we stepped into a framework of constant improvement as businesses must recertify every 3 years, and the framework evolves each year in line with best practices. The entire certification was overhauled in 2026, so our recertification process will be even more demanding, as the standards have changed significantly.

Our B Corp values

Since certifying, we have continued to grow in line with the values celebrated by B Corp and have announced our plans to become an Employee Owned Trust in 2027. This business model is popular among B Corps, as it empowers employees and ensures they have a clear voice within the company.

We have also continued our community donation project that we started in 2020, the Gusto Community Fund, where each employee has the opportunity to select a local charity or good cause to receive their donation, paid for by Gusto Group profits. This initiative connects our employees with projects in their local area, including food banks, animal shelters and mental health charities, inviting them down to an annual cheque presentation where employees can hand over the cheque to the charities themselves.

We also match employees' own fundraising too, including Movember, coffee mornings and hikes. The team get together to do their own ‘Gusto Challenge’ each year, with employees from across Gusto Group taking on the Edale Skyline for a 32km hike in 2026.

Over the last few years we have increased our focus on employee training, with Sarah joining us as our Learning and Development Administrator to ensure more focus on individual training plans across the business. Our leadership teams have completed Climate Fresk sustainability training, which led to the formation of our Sustainability Team, which meets bi-monthly to discuss sustainability and innovation across the business. The team includes employees from the shop floor, design team, and leadership team to ensure a broad view across the business. As we transition to Employee Ownership, the role of the current Sustainability Team will be handed over to the employees in our ‘EOT Forum’, who will be helping to shape the future of our business.

Our annual Gusto Fest is always a summer highlight, where we invite our team and their families for a day of good food, music and lots of activities for the kids as a way to spend time together outside the factory. We also organise regular socials and BBQs for the team to celebrate our successes throughout the year.

What B Corp certification means to us

B Corp certification is about proving that a business can be commercially successful and still do right by its people, community and the planet. We’ve been operating this way for many years and pursued certification to make that easier to communicate externally.

B Corp is about constant improvement, reassessed every three years to make sure we're still meeting their standards. As the entire certification was overhauled in 2026, our recertification process will be even more demanding in 2027, as the standards have moved on significantly. We'll keep working to meet that standard and improve on it every three years to come.
