Learning at work week: Transforming teams

This week, Rototek are celebrating Learning at Work Week! This annual event shines a spotlight on the power and importance of continuous development in the professional world.

Here at Rototek, we firmly believe that investing in our people's growth is not just beneficial, but essential to our collective success. Learning at Work Week provides a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the learning journeys within our organisation and to inspire everyone to embrace new knowledge and skills.

This year, we're particularly excited to highlight the impact of our Human Alchemy training, a program designed to unlock extraordinary potential within our teams. To give you a real insight into its value, we caught up with Operations Manager, David O’Neill, who recently completed the training, to hear about his experience and how it's influencing his work.

This training explores concepts around achieving peak performance and supporting exceptional team dynamics. It touches upon ideas like the 'Extraordinary Model', the power of striving for innovation and understanding how different leadership styles impact engagement. Participants were introduced to the '6 Extraordinary Traits' and developed practical skills in areas such as conscious communication, creating a clear and compelling vision, enabling and liberating their people, and building high-performance teams. We believe this training equips our teams with the mindset and tools to not just perform but to excel in their roles.

Here are David’s thoughts on the training:

What were some of the key things you learned during the training?
“During the Human Alchemy training, I gained valuable insights into communication styles, emotional intelligence, and how to better understand team dynamics. It also highlighted the importance of self-awareness and accountability in building stronger working relationships.”

How has what you learned in the Human Alchemy training helped you in your role?
“The training has improved my ability to approach situations more thoughtfully, especially during high-pressure moments. I will become more proactive in listening and responding with empathy, which has positively impacted how I collaborate with colleagues.”

Were there any aspects of the training that stood out to you?
“I believe the focus on personal responsibility and how individual behaviour influences team performance stood out. The practical exercises and open discussions encouraged honest reflection and created an atmosphere that you felt comfortable to involve yourself and express a view. I found these beneficial as the group were made up of people from Gusto Group and other companies, this really helped deliver a broad and varied discussion.”

Would you recommend this training to others?
“Yes. I certainly would! The training provides tools that are both practical and explained in a way that you could adopt in the workplace, regardless of your role. It encourages personal development in a way that benefits the entire business.”

How do you feel that Rototek supports you with learning new skills?
“Rototek is commitment to employee development by providing training opportunities just like Human Alchemy. Rototek’s investment in professional growth shows an intention to support both individual and team success.”

The insight shared by David highlights the benefits of the Human Alchemy training and Rototek’s commitment to learning and development. As Learning at Work Week reminds us, the journey of learning is ongoing, and we're proud to offer opportunities like Human Alchemy to support our people every step of the way.
